WARNING - THIS ARTICLE ONLY STATES FACTS AND I DO NOT INTEND TO TAKE SIDES!!
If you stroll down the street and notice two people arguing, chances are that it's about dogs and cats. These two lovable pets are a common subject of debate, so much so that I have had nearly 30 arguments since the start of the year alone! However, each furry friend has its own advantages and disadvantages, and this influences their suitability. Here is a list of some pros and cons for each.
They are loyal - Dogs are very devoted, loving animals and will follow you anywhere and everywhere.
Social - Dogs love going anywhere as long as their owners are with them. They like meeting people and warm up to them almost immediately!
Fun - Dogs can learn many games and can keep one entertained. They can also participate in activities along with their owners like swimming and running.
Walks - Dogs need to be walked everyday and being a lazy person won’t help. Walking helps the animals’ bowel movements as well.
Maintenance - Dogs are furry creatures and can smell a lot. They need to be groomed and bathed periodically.
Dependence - Dogs suffer from anxiety when alone. They cannot be left alone too long since they need to be walked, fed and played with.
Cats are litter box trained - They don't need to be walked and can do their business in their litter box.
Independence - Cats are very independent and content creatures. You can leave them for 8 hours or even a weekend and they won’t be worried.
They are clean - Cats don’t smell and don’t cause much trouble in terms of hygiene.
Allergies - The saliva of these felines is a well-known culprit in causing allergies.
Cold - With few exceptions, cats are very cold and may have bad tempers. They choose when to give and receive affection.
Claws - A cat’s claws can damage furniture and upholstery and could even hurt you!
In the end, both pets are incredibly adorable and fun to have. The choice is all yours, you can even get both if you want!!
