"Merlin!?" Nina gasped as she saw her dearest friend looming over her with scars on his face and his clothes torn. "Merlin? Did you say that? Why are you covered in scars? What's going on!?
Nina had a million questions yet she saw that Merlin was in no fit state to answer any of them. Besides, she had much bigger worries... Who had told her that she was foolish?
"Nina!" Merlin breathed.
"Merlin!?". Nina screamed as he collapsed at her feet. "Merlin!" Suddenly another girl burst into the room.
"Nina!" She screamed. "You have to come and help us fight."
"Fight!?" Nina was confused.
"Yes!" The girl screeched.
"I-I don't understand! Whats going on?" Nina asked worried.
"There are these massive shadow robot things and they are kidnapping whoever they can get their hands on!"
"Why don't Marly and Bonnie shoot them with their laser eyes?"
"They were the first ones captured!"
"Ugh!" Nina groaned. "Just what I need. First Merlin passes out and then the school gets abducted by strange alien robot assassins! Ugh! I'm coming! Get Merlin to the Hospital Wing Layla okay? Don't let those robots catch you!"
"Okay." Layla dragged Merlin off the floor and into the corridor outside. Suddenly, an ear-piercing scream dragged Nina's attention away from her twin spears hanging on the side of her wardrobe. She looked into the hallway and saw... "LAYLA!"...
The next morning Nina awoke to the sound of birds chirping. The sun was shining on her face and a soft breeze was playing in her hair. Nina turned her head and studied her surroundings. She wasn't in her room. She was in the hallway with most of the other students and professors! "What's going on?" Nina heard another student say. She pushed herself up but found herself laying on the floor again as her arms lacked the energy to even help her sit.
"Why did this have to happen?!" Nina sighed and tried again. This time she found herself sitting up in the middle of the corridor outside her room. All around her, students and professors were waking up and helping the others who were either still asleep or unconscious. Nina got up and stumbled to her room. She opened the door and collapsed inside. "Ugh!" Nina groaned in despair...again...
During breakfast, (Only half an hour later and Nina had no idea how she even got dressed!), Nina was reading a book about myths and legends on shadows. "Nina?" Nina jumped. "Ah! Good gracious Lily! You scared me!"
"Sorry!" The little red-headed girl looked down at her feet ashamed.
"No, no, no, no, no. Lily! I didn't mean it like that! I'm just...I'm just tired thats all."
"Oh. Well in that case, have you seen Layla?" Lily asked with a hopeful smile.
"Oh, uh, well, uh, you see, um, well, Layla, she, uh, she..."
"She got abducted by alien shadow robots and the chances of her surviving are...none." Nina's head spun round to see Merlin standing in front of her with scars all over his face.
"Merlin! Merlin? Merlin!? Merlin! What are you doing here?! And how do you know about the alien shadow robot assassins? You were unconscious! And what do you mean Layla is dead!?"
"Yes I know I was unconscious but I...well I...I-" But Merlin was caught off guard in Nina's hug.
"I'm so glad you're okay!"
"So..." Merlin looked at Nina.
"What happened? I figured you would tell me..."
"Oh yes right so..." And Nina explained the events that had happened the previous night.
"But what about the Marble Mon-" Merlin stopped in mid sentence...
