What Light by Jay Asher Book Review
This book resolves around love and loss in a unique way. Sierra lives two lives , one in Oregon where her family runs a Christmas tree farm, and one where every year on Thanksgiving night they pack up and drive over to California , where they set up their Christmas tree farm for the season. Leaving one always means missing the other. However once she meets Caleb her life changes. When the plot happens , she does everything she can to save the time she has left with Caleb and the tree farm.
Personally , my favourite character was Heather and her boyfriend , Heather seems so much different from her boyfriend that it’s crazy that they are together. Heather is a nice and caring nature lover on the other hand her boyfriend is what a typical teenager is like , always having their heads stuck in their phone and never enjoying times with his family , friends and girlfriend.
The characters seems very realistic and has a small moral that everyone makes mistakes. The story is very interesting with a good plot however the love that happens in between are my favourite parts.
My favourite part of the book was when Caleb comes to Sierra’s parents Christmas farm to buy trees for the families that are unable to get one. I loved the whole book, I’m usually not a person who would go for a romance book like this but the end of the book was amazing. It shows that true love actually exists and that people really want their partners to enjoy every minute with them.
Overall the book was great and I recommend it to people who are okay with a bit of romance. This book is appropriate to young adults ( 12 + ).
