The Hunger Games is the first book in the dystopian trilogy by Suzanne Collins. This is the story of Katniss, a girl who is battling for her life in the place of her sister on a horrific reality television show. She lives in a world split into 13 districts and a capitol, one of these was destroyed during a rebellion, the Hunger Games are a result of this, to show the world who is in control. There is only one rule to the hunger games, killed or be killed. Katniss knows that she must succeed, for who else will look after her sister and mother and at the same time is trying to act the part of a star-crossed lover, and of course, stay alive.
I believe that, Reading The Hunger Games can lead to interesting discussions about our own world and how reality shows, threats of war, authoritarian governments and obsession with fashion trends influence us daily. I strongly recommend this book to teens and maybe adults, yet this might be too dark for younger kids. My favourite character from this book is Katniss Everdeen, the main character. She is so inspiring and i want to be just like her! i've learn't to deal with hardships and to never give up!
Overall, i think that this book is extremely exciting and thrilling to read, and although i've read this book twice, i think i could still read it just one more time! I would rate this book 4.5 star out of 5 and i think all of you guys should read it!
