Review for Ranger’s Apprentice: The Ruins Of Gorlan
Will, who is the famous Ranger Halt’s apprentice, is a young boy who lost both his parents. The kingdom Araluen is facing a threat from the evil Lord Mongarath and he and his master were sent to a quest to save the kingdom.
I particularly like the part where the apprentice and the master are in a open land where there are creepy sounds of wind and Will was terrified by it. The author made the main character look quite brave however he also made the character looks real because he described the deep fear that anyone would have felt if he or she was in that kind of place. The author keeps you from putting down the book and urges you to move forward.
I didn’t really like the part where the orphans were chosen by their masters to become apprentices because what was supposed to be a tense part turned quite boring, there aren’t much descriptions in the scene, I think the author forced himself to write more when he wrote this.
