This is the first book in a series of five. Percy Jackson is a demigod. At first, he didn’t know, but he is the son of one of the Greek gods. He finds his way to Camp Half-Blood. The only place where a demigod is truly safe. However, someone has stolen Zeus’ lightning bolt. Zeus is threatening to start a war if it is not returned by the summer solstice. Percy is given a quest: He is to retrieve the lightning bolt.
My favorite character is Percy Jackson because of his bold personality and loyalty. His godly father is also very powerful, thus giving Percy a few special abilities. After reading this book, I didn’t think these characters could exist. After reading the whole series. The whole thing seemed more real. This book kept me wondering how it was going to happen next. Near the end of the book there was a major plot twist which was my favorite part. This part of the book had a lot of description and made me a bit nervous. This book in the series didn’t make me laugh or cry. But the entirety of the series did. This book was so good, I read it whenever I had free time. There was no part that wasn’t good in this book (My honest opinion).
